Groundwork North Yorkshire

Groundwork North Yorkshire is an environmental charity that was established as Groundwork Selby at the beginning of 2002. We aim to be a leading organisation in improving the overall quality of life within North Yorkshire., with a particular focus on Selby District and Scarborough Boroughs. We work with local people and in partnership with other organisations to bring about sustainable environmental benefits and contribute to the social and economic regeneration of the area. Since 2002 Groundwork North Yorkshire has delivered projects to the value of £3 million.
We have representatives from the voluntary, public and private sectors on our board. We receive core funding from the Department for Communities and Local Government, Selby District Council and Selby Town Council and have service level agreements with North Yorkshire County Council and Scarborough Borough Council.

We also launched Groundwork Environmental Developments North Yorkshire, our trading arm, dedicated to delivering environmental improvement projects, landscaping and grounds maintenance services, whilst providing training, work experience and employment opportunities in the area.
